Jananayak Chandrashekhar University (JNCU), Ballia (Uttar Pradesh) is a state government university established in 2016 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It was created by affiliating 138 colleges of Ballia district, which were earlier under Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi. For the academic year 2016–17, examinations were conducted by MGKVP, but degrees were awarded under JNCU.
