Desh Bhagat University (DBU), located in Village Saunti, Tehsil Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib near Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, is a private university established in 2012 under The Desh Bhagat University Act, 2012 (Punjab Act No. 15 of 2013). It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated with AIU, PCI, COA, BCI, INC, AICTE, and the Punjab Nurses Registration Council. The university was founded under the guidance of S. Lal Singh, a freedom fighter and associate of Subhas Chandra Bose, and is named to honor the spirit of national service. DBU offers more than 210 undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, Agriculture, and Liberal Arts. Admissions are conducted through national-level entrance exams like NEET, JEE Main, and GPAT for specific programs, along with merit-based selection. The university has reported strong placement outcomes, with packages reaching up to ?2.36 crore per annum in recent years, and maintains a placement rate of around 95%. The Fatehgarh Sahib campus is equipped with modern infrastructure including smart classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, sports facilities, and a teaching hospital.
