Diamond Harbour Women’s University (DHWU), Sarisha, was established in 2013 by the Government of West Bengal and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is the first state university in West Bengal dedicated exclusively to women’s education. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Education, with popular courses including English, Bengali, History, Political Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Zoology. Admissions are conducted through state-level entrance exams, CUET UG/PG, and merit-based selection. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG programs, graduation in relevant fields for PG programs, and a master’s degree for doctoral studies.
