Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
Established in 1985, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi is a central university recognized by the UGC, AICTE, and DEC, and approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is the world’s largest open university, offering more than 200 programs across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and doctoral levels. Popular courses include BA, B.Com, B.Sc., MBA, MCA, M.Ed., and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are conducted twice a year (January and July cycles) through online applications, with eligibility varying by program. For UG courses, candidates must have completed 10+2, while PG programs require a relevant bachelor’s degree. Fees are highly affordable, with UG programs starting at ₹3,000–5,000 per year and PG programs around ₹10,000–15,000 per year, making IGNOU accessible to millions of learners across India and abroad.

Scholarships & Fee Concessions
IGNOU provides access to government scholarships such as SC, ST, OBC, minority, and EWS schemes. In addition, the university offers fee concessions for economically weaker students, differently-abled learners, and war widows.
