Kolhan University was founded in 2009 in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum, as a state public university. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by statutory bodies such as AICTE, BCI, NCTE, INC, and MCI. The university offers 30+ programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, including B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Ed., LL.B., MBBS, MD/MS, MBA, MCA, and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are conducted through CUET-UG/PG, NEET for medical courses, and merit-based selection for general programs. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG courses, a relevant bachelor’s degree for PG programs, and postgraduation with 55% marks for Ph.D. programs. Fees are affordable, ranging between ₹10,000–₹60,000 per year, depending on the program.
