About
National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), established in 1962 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is a premier institution located at 17-B, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and conferred the status of Deemed-to-be University in 2006, NIEPA is dedicated to advanced research, training, and capacity building in educational policy, planning, and administration.

Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
NIEPA offers postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in areas such as Educational Planning, Policy, Administration, and Development Studies. The flagship program is the M.A. in Education and Development, for which admissions are based on a national-level entrance test followed by personal interviews. Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks for PG programs, while Ph.D. admissions demand a master’s degree with 55% marks plus entrance test and interview. Fees are relatively affordable compared to private universities, typically ranging between ₹20,000–₹60,000 per year, depending on the program.

The NIEPA campus is located on Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi, adjacent to NCERT and IIT Delhi, covering 3.75 acres. It houses modern classrooms, seminar halls, a central library with extensive educational research resources, computer labs, hostels, and conference facilities.
