Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, located in New Delhi, was established in 1996 as a deemed university and later upgraded to a Central University in 2020 by the Government of India. It is recognized by the UGC and accredited by NAAC. The university specializes in Sanskrit language, literature, philosophy, Jyotisha, Vyakaran, Sahitya, Dharma Shastra, and allied disciplines. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG programs, graduation in Sanskrit or related fields for PG programs, and postgraduation with 55% marks for Ph.D. programs.
