The Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (UBKV), located in Pundibari, Cooch Behar, was established in 2001 by the Government of West Bengal to promote agricultural education and research in the northern districts of the state. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). UBKV offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agricultural Engineering. Admissions are conducted through ICAR AIEEA UG/PG, CUET UG/PG, and university-level entrance exams, depending on the program. Eligibility requires 10+2 with science subjects for UG programs, graduation in agriculture or allied sciences for PG programs, and a master’s degree for doctoral studies.
