Vanita Vishram Women’s University, located on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg at Athwa Gate in Surat, Gujarat, is India’s first women’s university established by a women’s trust. It was founded in 2019 under the Gujarat Private Universities Act and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institution was created by the historic Vanita Vishram Trust, which has been active in women’s education and empowerment since 1907, making the university a continuation of its legacy of promoting higher education exclusively for women.
